Tuesday
It’s the end of Tuesday and so far 368 people have received an Act of Joy!
This includes:
Giving flowers (including to a sales assistant, to a stranger at a bus stop, to a lady in the street)
Giving chocolate (lots of chocolate), including:
Posting chocolate through the letterboxes of neighbours, with a Joyfest card stapled on
To shop workers
At the local pharmacy
To the council refuse collectors
To people doing deliveries
Taking homemade brownies to the local launderette
Giving plants to the staff in a local independent cafe
Taking 140 cookies to a university department and emailing everyone explaining why they should help themselves to cookies
Handing out doughnuts on the High Street
Using their Boots Advantage points to buy the lunch of the person behind them in the queue
Giving a hamper of treats to a local primary school for the staff
There are also some good connections and conversations happening.
Someone was Joyfest’ed with a bacon roll. They remarked this was a really strange coincidence as they wanted to buy some breakfast but had, just that minute, realised they’d left their wallet at home.
Another Act of Joy opened up a conversation about a tough family situation.
And there are countless comments put in the form about people being really touched by these random acts of kindness.
If you have any pictures of what you’ve done, please sent them to us at churches@joyfest.org.uk
And remember to submit any Acts of Joy you do here so we can keep track of the big picture.
