Monday
Joyfest is here!!!
A prayer for Joyfest:
Dear Father,
Thank you that by your Spirit you are always with us. Help us to be aware of your presence this week. Give us boldness and courage as we step out in faith to share your love with our communities.
Would you use our acts of joy as acts of worship, to bring change across the city and the surrounding areas? Would this unite us and ignite us, and transform us, starting in Exeter, then Devon, and across the UK.
Lord, together we stand, bringing to you our plans, hopes and ideas for the coming week. Would you help us see the people we meet this week through your eyes? Guide us to those you would like us to bless through Joyfest.
Give us courage to step out of our comfort zones and help us to be aware where you are already working, so we can join in with you. If we're asked, give us the words to share our own stories, to give a reason for our hope.
And from Romans 15, we pray that you, God, the source of our hope, will fill us completely with joy and peace because we trust in you, and that we will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Amen
Even though it’s the official start today, there have been a number of Acts of Joy already happened.
In fact, 57 people had been Joyfest’ed by the end of the day on Sunday 31st May, including 43 people who were given bacon butties and break bags by Exeter Church Leaders. They turned their monthly prayer gathering into prayer in action, going into the city centre and starting Joyfest early.
Let us know how your Joyfest is going… you can record an Act of Joy here to help us build a big picture of the week. If you have a great story or pictures to share, you can email them to us at churches@joyfest.org.uk - we’d love to hear from you!
